Purpose

The purpose of Hope In My JourneyΒ is to provide hope, encouragement, and inspiration to single moms in their journey.

After thirteen years of being single, the Lord has shown me through His word how to trust and serve Him along this journey.

I must admit, at times it feels like a lonely, isolated life—especially as a single homeschooling mom. There are plenty of times I wonder, “Am I the only one on the planet crazy enough to do what I do every day?”

Of course, God always reminds me, I’m not alone! I know He’s daily guiding me along this path; and for that, I am truly grateful.

As much as I need encouragement, God also shows me just how much other single moms need encouraging too.

It is my goal to be a blessing to all those who are tired, weary, and discouraged. I am resolved to continue training my children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).

I can assure you that my life is far from perfect. I make plenty of mistakes (as you will find out). I will admit, I’m not the most brilliant writer in the world.

My greatest desire is to share my heart and encourage you to continue your parenting journey as a single mom, successfully! God will give you the wisdom and strength you need to raise godly children—even in the midst of an ungodly world. Do not despair, single mama! Seek the Lord first (Matt. 6:33), go in His strength (Psalm 71:16), and PRESS ON!

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I PRESS toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 3:13-14

Angela, I found you through a comment you made on another site! This is what I really needed today! I am physically, emotionally weary. I really need help in figuring how I am going to support my kids. I would really like feedback on how to start my own business as well. Amy

I’m glad you are reaching out Amy for help and wisdom on what to do as far as starting your own business. If you are a single mom and you desire to work from home, the possibilities are endless! First, I would suggest praying and asking God for wisdom and guidance. Second, find out what your passion is and then, find a way you can generate income doing what you already love. For me, it has always been caring for children. Since I was already a stay-at-home mom and a homeschool mom as well, becoming a small daycare provider was a perfect fit for me when my ex-husband and I separated years ago. I also enjoy writing, so right now, I’ve decided to start blogging with the hopes that one day, I could generate enough income to replace my daycare income. Lastly, I would highly recommend you Google different career options you can look into, whether you choose to work at home full time, or part time. Again, the possibilities are endless. I hope this is a good starting point for you. You can make it! Feel free to email me if you have any further questions.

Hi, I think your website might be having browser compatibility issues. When I look at your blog in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, superb blog!
